Being outlawyered, or even lied to, is rarely going to be grounds for getting out of a plea (getting passed the fact that it might be a horrible idea anyway). People charged with crimes need a lawyer, and the DA is not there to protect the people who are charged. If people choose to proceed without one, they take the risk. If this issue was at all important, it should be asked to a good criminal lawyer.

He needs to retain the right attorney, and withdraw the plea. See website: http://www.lawrencelewispc.com/pages.php?go=pinfo&PID=38

Good luck
