My son was recently sentenced to 15 do 5 for 9 felony counts. Can I file a motion for a sentence modification or does a lawyer have to file the motion? How long do I have to do it after sentencing?

You can't do it because you're not a lawyer and can't represent another person. Either a lawyer or your son has to sing the motion. You can do it at any time. Consult with a local attorney.
