Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

I applied for a job

I applied for a job with Zingo. I was turned down with this response.

''Thanks for your interest in this company and position. Unfortunately, I am not in the position to hire females at this time.

There is potential for future employment, but not at present.

Please call me anytime and I will be happy to discuss''.

I feel kinda let down. I mean what does he mean by ''in the future''...whats wrong with now. I mean is this legal?

Re: I applied for a job

Such a response is most likely against the law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, unless there is a bona fide occupational requirement for a certain sex in a specific job. This might be in the case of a nurse for ob/gyn patients, etc.

You should call a good employment law attorney. I would be happy to speak with you at 770.984.7155.
