Legal Question in DUI Law in Georgia

my 16 year old daughter dui charge

My daughter was charged because she told the officer that she too 2 hydrocodones aroung 9:00 am and she was pulled over at 4:15 that afternoon. the officer herself said that the effect of the medication should be gone by that time but because my daughter seemed very nervous the officer took her to hospital for a blood test to check for other drugs that my be in her system. The hydrocodone was all that she did that day but my daugter admitted to me that she had smoked pot that same week and that would probably show up in the blood test as well even though it was not done that day.

We the parents and my daughter have not yet seen results of blood test and the juvenile court does not have it on file and her court date is tomorrow 3/11/08. My question is do you feel that this case is worth fighting?

I would strongly suggest discussing the case with a defense attorney. Since your daughter is so young, you will want to have those charges reduced or dropped. It could affect her college acceptance or when applying for jobs. You can contact my colleague, Kendall Carter at 404.962.4475 for a free consultation.

Sincerely,
