What is the law for placing a parent in an assisted living center or nursing home against their will? My mother suffers from RSD and recently tried to kill herself. She lives with a cousin, and I want to make her move somewhere where she can be looked after.

You should consult with a local attorney about having a guardian appointed (by the Probate Court) of the person and/or property of your mother. The process is too complicated to describe in this type of forum.
