Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Abandonment

My son mother has filed another child abandonment warrant against me, this is the second one, she knows I am not working and I pay when I can, she told me to surrender my rights and she will withdraw the abandonment warrant, I have not paid any money in the last 30 days, I am worried this time I might be sentenced to jail..will the court sentence me the second time around..please advise.

Re: Child Abandonment

In short, you could serve some time, but it depends on all the factors. The Judge wants you to work as much as your wife does, he needs the space at the jail. Document her threats and actions as well as yours. Work hard every day to find a job (document this), then provide as much support as you possibly can until you're caught up (get a receipt).
