Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child custody

My son is in the Army and is going through a lenghty devorce and his attorney is telling him that it is customary that he should only expect to recieve 20% custory being that he is home 45% of the time. I have never heard of a ''customary'' ruling and there is no reason why he can't enjoy 45% custody. Where can I find info on percentage guide lines?

Re: child custody

There are no "customary" visitation percentages. Customarily, the man would work and the woman would be a home maker and stay home with the kids. Weekends was the only time dad had available to be with the kids. So dad would "customarily" be with the kids every other weekend which would come to just at 20%. That is not necessarily what happens in todays world.
