Child's rights under Custody
Is there an age that a child can refuse to go to visits set in a custody and visitation agreement? My grandson feels mistreated and disliked by the wife of his dad and asks not to go. He has been made, but he is now 14 years old. At what age does he have any say in whether or not he has to go to his father's home and spend the night?

A child who is 14 years old or older can live/stay with either parent the child so desires. The child's wish in this regard is absolute and controlling, unless the parent is unfit or there would be a risk to the child. O.C.G.A. Section 19-9-1(a). PAS PASTrickGA@yahoo.com
