Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have a court date for a contempt charge for non payment of child support and alimony over the last 9 months. He is supposed to be carrying the children on health insurance, which I just found out he has not and they have not had insurance since July1, 2012. How do I amend this before going to court on November 13?

You amend it by hiring an attorney if you care about your children and/or enforcing the divorce decree.

You have to file an amendment to the original motion/citation for contempt. If you did not have an attorney when you filed, you should retain an attorney or at a minimum, pay for a consultation. You must give the non-custodial parent sufficient notice of the amendment prior to the November hearing.

You amend it by calling your lawyer and asking him (and if you don't have a lawyer, and actually want results, you get one). You do this Monday morning, because if you wait too close to the hearing date, your case will have to get reset.
