Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

regarding custody of minor children non married parents

my daughter has 2 minor children with her ex- boyfriend they were never legally married he had her sign change of custody papers without her being represented by an attorney he said that he had a lawyer and wanted her to sign the custody papers not informing her what type of custody she was giving up he just told her it would be him having temporary custody but she could see the girls whenever she wanted and informed her that she would have to pay child support however the court papers do not say that a dna test was done to prove that true paternity was established and also the court papers do not have the judges final signature or date that the order would go into effect. the ex boyfriend has since moved out of state making almost impossible for my daughter to see her children he does not stay in one place for any length of time and my daughter has to track him down through his girlfriend what can she do to regain custody of her children.also the court in savannah has ordered my daughter to continue to pay this child support even though a lot of the time she cannot find her ex boyfriend to pick up up the kids for her visition. the court papers says that the exboyfriend has to provide a morally fit environment he is not working.

It appears that you are located in Savannah, GA. You really need to find a lawyer in your area to assist you. I think your daughter was taken advantage of and only a lawyer will be able to help her.
