I have been married for 25 years and my husband wants a divorce. Can I make him pay me alimony until i can support myself?

Unless you and he agree on alimony, alimony is completely up to the judge (or jury). Without far more information, there is no way to answer you. Bear in mind that you may be entitled to many other things (some or all of your spouse's retirement plan, marital home, etc). It is very important to retain a lawyer early to protect your rights.
