Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Grandmother needs help getting custody of grandbaby

What do I have to do to get custody of my grand child? Mother is 16 on drugs, been arrested for driving with no license, has no job, no car, no stability, the father in the same situation as mother. I am the Paternal Grandmother. I am afraid something is going to happen to this child if someone does not intervine. Help me please.

Re: Grandmother needs help getting custody of grandbaby

You would need to show the court that the mother is an unfit parent and then seek custody. There has to be a good reason to terminate parental rights.
