Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I live in the state of Georgia. The baby in queestioned was born March 14. I signed a Paternity Acknowledgement form. Two days later i recinded the PA. I would like to remove my name off the birth certificate. What forms do i need to petition the court to remove my name off the birth certificate?

Generally you cannot. You should have asked a lawyer before you signed. Plan on paying support for 18 years. Legally the child is now yours.

Let me clarify. The form you signed specifically says that you are no removed by revocation.

While a court CAN undo the birth certificate, be aware that courts do not like de-legitimizing children.

Also, you would be admitting to a felony. You could be jailed for that. O.C.G.A. �31-10-31 says anyone making a false statement on thd document you signed may go to prison for up to five years and fined up to $10,000.

If you think you should not be on the birth certificate, retain a lawyer.
