Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Relocating and vehicle ownership

I have been granted a divorce in the state of Georgia and according to the divorce decree my ex-husband agreed to pay the car note and keep it insured while the car is in my possession. ''Husband agrees to make payment on vehicle and keep insurance on said vehicle until it leaves possession of wife or paid in full.'' (Paraphrase) I need to move to Texas but he states that I can not take the car. Does he have any legal stance on this?

Re: Relocating and vehicle ownership

Unless the divorce decree says otherwise, you can take the car anywhere you want. Just to be safe, you should have a local attorney review the decree.
