Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am doing a self-divorce. What if, 3 months ago, my husband stated "send them (the papers) and I'll sign them", but refuses to sign them now? I live in Georgia.

First of all, it is a horrible idea to ever try a pro se divorce. The fact that you have hit a hitch before you start is great evidence of why.

You are now dealing with a contested divorce. The refusal to sign means you must serve someone, have no agreement, and will be facing a hearing. I canot stress how foolish it is for you not to have counsel.

Do you know how to draft and present motions, to perfect service, to draw needed paperwork in contested cases (which can range from parenting plans to jury charges)? If you end up with a jury trial, or even one in front of a judge, do you know the rules of evidence? Are you familiar with equitable division of property?

Get off line, shred your papers, and get a lawyer immediately and hope the past three months have not had too many mistakes.
