Re: social security

There are rules in Social Security that, if a wife and husband are married for over ten years and then divorce, she is entitled to have her Social Security Retirement benefit calculated based on his contributions. You do not get a piece of his benefits, just use his contribution record instead of your own (assuming he contributed more than you). There are limitations, but you might want to look at ssa.gov to see what information they have on the site.
