Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

In the State of GA a divorced man has been paying the ex spouse (per their divorce decree) to carry their child on her insurance through her employer. The man remarried and his new spouse adds him and the child to her insurance through her employer. The man notifies his ex spouse he will no longer pay her to carry the child and if she wants to keep the insurance, it is her choice but she will have to pay. The insurance through his new spouse is equal to, if not better, than the insurance with the ex spouse. Is the man required to obtain a modification in order to change this or is notification to the ex spouse allowed?

No, one does not violate a court order by telling the other party they will not comply.

One does not get to ignore a court order jsut because someone thinks it's workable. A modification would be necessary.
