Legal Question in Medical Leave in Georgia

17 year old leaving home
In the state of Georgia can a 17 year old move out of his parents home without being charged as a runaway? Can you tell me what this law code is so I can look it up at the law library? I have contacted my lawyer and he says legally there is nothing a parent can do but the juvenile courts and police officers say different?? no one seems to give the same answer. Can they make a 17 year old go back home if they choose to move out? This child has a bad home life and if she leaves and they make her go back home it will only get worse...Please help
