Legal Question in Medical Leave in Georgia

I have type 2 diabetes, I also have family medical leave because of my medical condition. I have never used one day under FMLE untill today. My plant mgr told my supervisor he wanted to know what my sugar level was at, if it was bad enough for me to lay out from work. I told my boss it was none of his and her business what my sugar level was at. That it was under hippa laws. any help? thanks.

The employer is entitled to documentation and certification that you qualify for medical leave. They may or may not have asked in the appropriate way, but it certainly is their business why employees are not at work and it is the employee's responsibility to provide the appropriate information. Not providing it, and telling them it is "none of their business" could lead to a denial of leave and the possible loss of the job.
