Garnishment

I mailed a payment on 4/12/02, the cancelled check cleared my bank on 4/22 and my employer received the garnishment on 4/24. What effect will the payment have on the garnishment? How will my employer know that I made a payment that was not deducted from the amount of the garnishment? And since the original judgement was taken back in 5/2000 for $5420.81, I have made 23 payments of $150

for a total of $3450.00. How can this garnishment be for an amount of still over $3000.00?

As to your question "How can this garnishment be for an amount of still over $3000.00?", it might be with interest. On the other hand, it might not be but I think you need to get a local lawyer to look and all the court records as well as your bank records.
