Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Someone is in possession of my property (exceeding $1000 in value).

They are avoiding all contact and not returning calls in attempt to plead ignorance.

I will see him in magistrate court, but I'm being told that he actually has a "civil" obligation to return the property (or attempt to).

I'm sending him a 15 day notice and I want to make sure I'm not shooting myself in the foot by pointing out he has a civil obligation to return the items either way

You can request anything you want, but if you get ignored, sue in Magistrate's Court.
