Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Small Claims Court

I am going to sue a person who was renting office space from me but the company I have to sue is located in another state. Do I file the suit with the small claims court in my state or in the companies state?

Ordinarily you must sue in the county and state of residence unless the company maintains an office in your state. Check with a local attorney because your lease may shed further light on your rights.

Check with the Secretary of State to see if the corporation has a registered office in Georgia. If so, you can sue in the county of the office.
