Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

I was in a traffic accident in August 2009. I plead nolo contender, but now I am being sued. I thought I could not be sued if I plead nolo.

Pleading nolo to a traffic case (as I am sure youyr lawyer told you when you did it) does not prevent a civil suit. It does keep the traffic disposition from being used against you, but it doesn't prevent suit. Your car insurance company will defend such a suit and you need to get them a copy.

Handling the traffic charge by way of a nolo plea has nothing to do with your being sued in civil court. Consult with a local attorney.
