If you entered without inspection, you will need to be 245i to adjust status and get a work permit while you are in the United States. You are 245i eligible if an immigrant petition was filed for you before April 30, 2001 and it was approvable when filed. It sounds like a petition was filed for you in 1994 so you could be 245i eligible. You should speak to an immigration attorney to go over the specifics of your case. Has the adult daughter now become a US citizen? If so, it will be faster to reapply as the parent of a US citizen. For assistance, please contact my office at 1-800-408-5818 or email me at [email protected] for a consultation..
