I am a citizen and will like to petition for my sister. I will like to know if petitioning for will affect her visitor's visa, as she visits me in US every year.

How long does it take for the petition to be approved

Filing an I-130 for your sister should not affect her entering the U.S. as a visitor.

If she is a citizen of a country other than Mexico, China, India or the Philippines, the processing time is currently over 11.5 years for a visa number to become available.

The I-130 petition processing time is currently about 2 years.
