Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia

Liability of directors of hoa

I am president of a hoa and was told that i needed to provide for a clause in our insurance coverage for individual team events ie., swim meets and practice. My question is doesnt a normal insurance policy protect the board members from liability issues. We carry insurance for our common grounds (swimming pool, tennis courts and playground).

Re: Liability of directors of hoa

It depends on the language of the insurance policy. I would hesitate to tell you what a "normal" policy covers because they are all different. It would seem likely that the policy for the common areas would cover swim meets, etc. as long as they are normal uses of the property.
