Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia

I have a situation. I happen to be pulled over in GA (my home state) on my way to school and the Officer said that my registration was suspended for not having insurance. I have had the same insurance for 4 year and even gave the officer my Insurance card verifying my insurance( wasn't the most updated one but still same everything). He didn't even give me the opportunity for him to verify with my insurance that this is incorrect. He ended up towing my car and impounding it because he said that in his system, my registration is suspended and it's illegal for my car to be on the road. He gives me a ticket for suspended registration and no proof of insurance.I have my friend pick me up and I call my insurance Allstate and they verify with me that they have never not verified to the DMV of Georgia that I have never had insurance or reported that I didn't. Long story short, I go to the GA tag office only to find out that Allstate has not reported my insurance to the DMV for all four years I have had them. Now the question I have is that the only reason any of this happened was all because Allstate has not reported that I have insurance with them. I missed school for the whole day, had to call out of work, pay my friend for gas money, pay $120 to get my car out of the impound and I also have these 2 pending tickets I have to go to court for. Knowing it's their fault, how do I approach Allstate. Do I demand they reimburse me the $120, tickets, etc. or ask that they give me free insurance for 6 months? Or do I say I'm going to take them to small claims court for all the fees and problems they caused me.

You can ask for anything you want. What, if anything, they will pay is a different issue. They might reimburse you for actual expenses, such as the towing fee. You should get out of the tickets with proper paperwork. As far as suing, what is it worth to take more of your time and energy? You would get different opinions from lawyers on that question. Obviously, you should change insurance companies.
