Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia

last will

My mother changed her will less than 30 days before her death and tried to change the beneficiary on one of her policies which was to go to my sister and me to her estate she could not change it before death, now her attorney says they are going to show where she filed out the change but never done it before death, now they want to cheat me out of a policy I had made payments on. I talked with my mother and she told me I and my sister was to get the ins. and half it. She also told my niece this 3 days before she died. What can I do?

Re: last will

This is not simple. Whether or not you can successfully force payment depends on many factors beyond the scope of this message. You need to see a lawyer knowledgeable about insurance matters ASAP. An ordinary lawyer will not do. It has to be someone experienced in insurance claims.Ideally he/she would also understand probate law. Take all paperwork (including canceled checks for premiums you paid) to the lawyer. You may have to go outside Lagrange to find such an attorney. Research on the internet will be a place to start. Best of luck to you.
