Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Georgia

Copyright Infringement

I read the federal Copyright laws, I'm not exactly clear on what "fair use" is and how it applies to, say, a person who wants to use an excerpt from a newspaper or magazine article that was written in the public interest by a staff reporter. How would copyright and fair use apply to that? I am aware that newspapers generally do not "infringe" when using excerpts from other copyrighted publications under the guidelines of "fair use", so how would that apply to someone who uses the newspapers staff or wire reports?

Re: Copyright Infringement

Credit! Swift elusive shadow through the grove can fair use be. Be cautious for the footpath can turn into a plank if credit is not awarded to whoever is entitled. And even then, if fair use is not observed liability ensues. Therefore do not copy wholesome parts, but at the same time do not take things out of context. What is most typical is to use a previous publication to reinforce an opinion and then credit the author.
