Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

i have been told by my boss that i cant use but one particular bathroom- even though there are many bathrooms in the school where i work. after i was off the clock one day i was using a differant bathroom and was told i would be written up. can my boss dictate which bathroom i use on or off the clock?

It is their property, their rules and their right to tell employees what to do (not the other way around). Many businesses restrict bathrooms for customers, employees, etc.

The "Golden Rule" applies to your question: "He who has the gold makes the rules."

As long as the boss's decision is not based upon your race, color, religion, creed, age (if you are at least 40) national origin, disability, status as a member of the uniformed services, reserves, or veteran of the armed forces, the decision will be a lawful one. And , of course, he can assign bathrooms on the basis of gender. His decision might not make sense. But the market place-- not the law-- punishes nonsensical decisions.

If you don't like the decision, you always have the option of working for a different employer.
