Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I advised my roommate 60 days in advance that I did not want to renew our lease together. She started harassing me and moved someone else into the apartment without my permission. I ended up having to get a restraining order against her and she went to jail for sending threats to me via phone. I moved out about 3 weeks after telling her I didn't want to renew the lease but I still paid my portion of the rent and utilities. When i went back to get my property she had the locks changed and the police had to be called for her to come unlock the door. When i went into the apartment I noticed she had stolen a few of my items, busted open my once locked room door and allowed her friend to sleep in my bed. My question is am I responsible for paying my portion of the rent for the last month if I had to move out for living in a hostile environment and my life was threatened?

You are responsible for paying your portion of the rent -- why should your landlord get left short handed because of your poor choice in roommates?

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
