Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I agreed to sign a 12 month lease for an old class mate new to town after she agreed to pay the first three months rent and deposit. We agreed that after the first three months we would split the rent and utilities 50% 50%. After 4 weeks she moved back to her home town giving me three days notice that she was leaving. I asked her to stay for the three months that she agreed to or stay until I found another room mate. She declined. A month and four days into the lease, I was forced to terminated the lease and pay $4500.00. I feel she broke the agreement and should pay the $4500.00. What do you think? Do I have a case?

You haven't told us if your lease allowed or banned subleases (very critical to the answer), or what terms were in your written sublease (also critical). There is thus no way to answer you except to tell you that if you signed a lease and broke it, you are liable to the landlord.
