Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Landlord sold property without notice

Our landlord sold his house and the one we rent from him without any notice whatsoever. After questioning him about a part of the lease he informed me that he sold the property and our lease/contract with it, however the lease does not state the it is transferable. He also has refused to give us the contact information for the new owners.Has he breached the lease in doing this and if so does he now owe us our deposit immediately?

Re: Landlord sold property without notice

No, he is within his rights to sell the property which has the lease. This protects you also, as you have an interest in the property that cannot be terminated as long as you abide by the terms of the lease. I don't really understand why he hasn't told you who the new landlord is. Continue to deal with him until he tells you the new landlord is, otherwise continue to follow the terms of your lease.
