Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

i live in atlanta ga and i'm subleasing a apt. the person i'm subleasing from haven't been paying the bills after i've paid him. i'm our agreement all utilities in included in my rent, but earlier this week the power was disconnected for nonpayment and yestarday papers was in the door to start the eviction process. he wrote a bad ck for rent this month.

after looking futher into it i found out the the ga power wasn't paid for july, aug or sept. i paid it today to get power turned back on. even though i've paid for this month i'm willing to pay the leasing office the rent, late fee, nsf fee and court cost and just go after him in civil court.

my question is should i go and tgalk to the leasing office and let them know what's going on and is it against the law to sublease a apartment in atlanta?

It is not against the law to sublease an apartment in Atlanta; HOWEVER, it likely a violation of the sublessor's lease with the landlord. Whether you are ready, willing, and able to pay the rent doesn't really matter. If the landlord wants you out, he can likely kick you out if the lease specifically says sublessors are not allowed.
