Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I lived with a roommate in Georgia for a year. When I was packing up to move to Texas, he texted me (I still have the text) and told me to take anything I wanted, including the desktop computer (he has his laptop) and to please put the rest of his things in storage. I did as he asked, and did take the computer. This was over 6 weeks ago, and we have not spoken. Now he has called my sister demanding that I return the computer or he will be filing a police report for theft. He is a truck driver, on the road, based out of Georgia where we lived. I live in Georgia. Am I obligated to mail the computer to him?

I would want to see the text message before commenting specifically, but if someone gives you something as a gift, that can't be withdrawn. Best of luck. The above is for informational purposes and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
