Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

My ex, another roommate, and I are all on the lease for a house. The landlord is a friend of mine. The ex is not paying for anything and drinks daily. I do not feel safe or comfortable around this man. I've explained the situation to our landlord and she is willing to modify the lease where my roommate and I are only on it, but she isn't sure how to do it legally. He says "bring it on" when I ask him to please leave because the only reason he's staying is because he refuses to work and wants me to be uncomfortable. I cannot afford his part of the bills with mine. I'm expected to care for my 5-year-old and also feed his 15-year-old. He is holding me hostage. How can I get this emotionally abusive, unemployed alcoholic out of my house if he's on the lease?

You are putting a lease ahead of the safety of yourself and your young child???? Think about that. This is your choice. No one is holding you hostage. It is also not YOUR house. You rent it, just as the other two roommates rent it. You can't make them leave their residence any more than they can make you leave. Again, if you stay there and are really in danger, it is your choice to put a lease over your well being.
