Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia

Concerns about current attorney

I am questioning the loyalty of my daughter's divorce lawyer. He usually takes 2 to 3 weeks to return a call. He spent nearly three hours at the courthouse talking to her husband who had no attorney, yet my daughter is lucky to get 15 minutes of his time. She hopes that her lawyer is trying to ''win over'' her husband and get him to slip up. But could his loyalty lie with her husband and not with her? Should she look for another attorney? She cannot afford paying him, but she also cannot afford starting over or another retainer. Please advise!

Re: Concerns about current attorney

She should confront him with her concerns directly. If she does not have confidence in him after that, she should make other arrangements.
