Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Georgia

On Jan 4th of this year, a tree limb fell through the sunroof of our 2005 automobile at our home. we contacted our insurance co to file a claim.process was started. Progressive preferred to pick our vehicle up instead of coming to our residence. after it was picked up, it was taken to a separate location where they failed to secure it and cover it properly. Unfortunately, that night it poured down rain and caused all kinds of flood damage. When Progressive came out to evaluate our property the final outcome was the vehicle was to be totaled. When all it needed was a piece of glass. Due to their negligence were are now with a totaled vehicle. This happened on the 4th. Since that time, we feel we have been ignored and treated very rudely. It is now the 29th and we are still without a callback or resolution from our agent or her boss even after phone calls, messages on answering machine, and emails.the last person we spoke to was our agents boss on the 22nd of January with a promise of a phone call on the following Tuesday. i am still waiting on that return phone call on Friday the 29th. There is still so much of this ordeal. is it time to speak to an Attorney. M.Geisha

You have likely not received many answers by posting in the wrong part of LawGuru, so most attorneys that deal with insurers never saw your question (this area is for legal malpractice and similar matters).

You should contact the state insurance commissioner, who may assist for free. If that fails, you may then need to talk to a lawyer.
