who is responsible for this? A person was sitting next to a door in an office that inter office door was opened to hard by another person (not my staff person), which cause damage to the property of the person sitting next to the door.

The answer is almost always - the person who caused damage to property of another is responsible for his or her actions, whether intentional or accidental.
