Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

Need help civil court personal injury case, negligence.

Had a lawyer that did just about nothing but mess up our case. Went to a hearing to let him off, glad he is gone. Judge gives us 30 days to find new one. Motions to dismiss our case were held that same day (as soon as defendants knew the lawyer wanted off they scheduled them and we were gone on unavialability) we rush to answer them as the lawyer sat there and did nothing all that time. The judge holds the motions to dismiss hearing the same day he gives us 30 days to find a new lawyer (after) then states he doesnt have time to read and rule as our responses just barely made it before the hearing, now our case is listed as a reserved ruling and we are not sure what to do here.

We will find a new lawyer hopefully in 30 days, should we do anything else in the meantime, or just wait for the ruling, not sure what to do.

Without a doubt you need to meet with an experienced personal injury lawyer ASAP. Depending on what the damages are and where the case is located in Georgia, we may be able to help. If not, we may be able to suggest a lawyer able to handle your case.

Now is a very busy time with everyone's schedules being tight for the holidays and year end. You should contact a lawyer immediately. If you'd like to speak with us, send an email at [email protected].

Good luck.

Don't do anything yourself except hurry up and get a lawyer who can immediately tend to what needs to be done.

I agree with Mr. Field, you shouldn't do anything until you obtain a lawyer. The judge probably held the ruling until the lawyer can review the case and obtain a new one. Athough you have 30 days, you should interview several attorneys and select the one that best fits your needs and their schedule. The interview should be done as if you were hiring a person for a position at a corporation. Probably, you didn't do that the first time. Most importantly, don't hire the first one you meet.
