Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

a very hot sandwich

Can someone be compensated, from being burnt on the corner of the mouth by a hot sandwich. The burnt mark left some scarring of about 1/4 inch. This sandwich was from a fast food resturant.

Well, if a woman can get big bucks for a hot coffee spill and most recently McDonald's has been sued for a hot pickle, who's to say what a jury might do in your case.

Theoretically, I suppose so. However, this brings to mind the Latin phrase, "de minimis non curat lex." ("The law does not care for, or take notice of, very small or trifling matters")
