Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

is this incompetent legal representation

i hired an attorney to represent me in 1997 in a civil lawsuit. i asked my attorney for an update from any action taken by his office from 1997 until now. he sent me a 3 page report which he filed 2 days before the statue of limitation and an extention which he gave the defendants which expired june 1999, as of july 2001 no response from the defendant and my attorney have not filed a default judgement.i have lost my job and have disabilities from this accident.i need to know if this attorney is properly representing me and if not what can i do about it.i've talk to another attorney who would not help me, how can i find out what my rights are.

It sounds very questionable from your narrative. The circumstances warrant some investigating at the very least. You can go to the court yourself to see if the suit has actually been filed. We would be interested in speaking with you.
