Liability insurance covers you if you cause an accident and somebody else is injured. If you have medical payments coverage on your policy you could have your medical bills related to the accident paid by your insurance company regardless of fault up to the limits of the medical payments coverage. Medical payments coverage is an optional insurance coverage in Georgia.

If you have no medical payments coverage then there is no payment due from your insurance company when you are at fault in the accident.
