Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

My son was in a 3 car collision where one driver (not him) was cited. My son was not cited at all. I carry collision on his car, but not comprehensive. Vehicle was totalled. Can I expect the at fault driver's insurance to give him fair market value for his vehicle? We live in Georgia, insurance is Progressive. My son was transported via ambulance, was released after observation and x-ray. no injuries immediately apparent.

The real concern should be injuries. In a crash where a vehicle was totalled and your son was transported by ambulance, there is a possibility of injury being discovered, so he should see a lawyer immediately and neither you nor he should make any statement to anyone else's insurer at all. It is ESPECIALLY important not to say "no injuries immediately apparent." If heaven forbid there are are further injuries, that statement will haunt him. Multicar accidents present problems that make it more important to meet with legal counsel. Do that at once and make sure he gets followup medical treatment to be safe. Time matters and there should be NO delay in speaking to a lawyer.

Even if your main concern in the value of the car, there already are ambulance and medical bills to deal with.

My office handles these type matters. I'd need more information to advise you and an initial consultation is free (404-768-3509).
