Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

I volunteer at an animal shelter and am asked to sign an agreement that includes the following language, "I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Foundation and its officers, directors, managers, employees, insurers,

successors and assigns from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, costs, lawsuits, expenses and liabilities of

every kind, character, nature and description, without limitation, related to my activities at or concerning the Shelter

or the Foundation."

Is it reasonable for the shelter to ask me to agree to that? What sorts of scenarios am I signing away?

Thanks.

No it is UNreasonable. Don’t sign it with that language in the document. In fact don’t sign any documents. They are not paying you. You’re working for free. If they insist you sign and you are inclined to sign the other provisions strike though that objectionable language then initial the change and sign the document. I could talk for hours about indemnification and it’s abuses (in fact I have at seminars) but for our purposes it is sufficient to say NEVER sign a document with indemnity language in it. Period.
