Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Contract End Date

A contract to buy a home was not to end until saturday, a new contract with different owners was signed on the day before. My bid was not disclosed to the sellers even though the agent was aware of my interest and was in the process of signing. Is this legal?

Re: Contract End Date

It is not illegal in a criminal sense, but it sounds like you may have some claims against the agent and possibly the seller. The agent would have a duty to relay the bid to the seller. And the seller may have had a contractual obligation to you as well.

Re: Contract End Date

Your qustion seems to beg the issue. I doubt you had a contract. Rather, you submitted an offer to which you had no acceptance. Ergo no contract.
