Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

foreclosure before closing

I put a contract on a home but while waiting for the sellers agent to get the title info to the attorney, the house went into foreclosure. I have had to file for 4 extensions now. When I ask my agent about what is going on from the sellers side of things, he tells me that they will not give him straight answers. Do I have any rights as a buyer?

Re: foreclosure before closing

Your post is far from clear, but a foreclosure generally wipes out the seller's interest and the property is owned by the purchaser at the foreclosure sale.

Re: foreclosure before closing

Just ask for your earnest money back and look for another property (or contact the purchaser at the foreclosure sale and deal with him).
