Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Fraudulent Home Disclosure

I bought a house and found out it had sustained major water damage and had to be gutted and remodeled. The seller had ''dont know'' checked but he owned the house for 20 years and it was through a contractor i found out it had those issues and had been done fairly recently. does this entitle me to any leagal action or help with repairs from the water damage? i.e. rotter sub flooring, roof leaking etc.

You may well have a case for fraud. Consult with a local attorney.

It sounds to me like you should discuss the matter further with a real estate attorney. Please feel free to contact me at the number below in the event that you would like additonal information. Meanwhile, I would recommend that you do not discuss any information about the matter with any one else, or make any other postings about it on a non-confidential forum, such as this.

Re: Fraudulent Home Disclosure

You do not provide sufficient information, such as how you found out about the damage and whether it was discoverable with a basic inspection (regardless of whether you actually performed one). There is certainly nothing wrong with you asking the question on this message board, or asking advice from others.
