Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

My landlord has informed me that he will be selling the house I rent. I do not see anywhere in my lease that he might be selling the house. Can I ask to break my lease now and start looking for another place to live?

The is a question you need to ask your landlord. Maybe he will let you out and maybe he won't. A lot of things might happen in the future, but until they do you have a lease. The sale of the house does not need to be in the lease.

Unless the lease says he can't sell the house, he can. And unless the lease says you can get out of the lease without penalty, no you can't break it (without owing rent). In most cases a new buyer is subject to your lease. You can ask the landlord if he would release you early. If he agrees on terms with you, get it in writing. He doesn't have to agree and can say no.
