Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I have a note for a property in Macon. The borrower has e-mailed me to say that he has an attorney and that he is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have contacted the attorney to ask what does this mean for me as the holder of the note. He said he could not tell me anything. All I want to know is what are my legal courses of action? And how do I go about doing that?

A bankruptcy may prohibit you contacting the debtor and certain collection efforts (if one is filed) under penalty of contempt. It may affect when or if you are paid. There are certain steps you likely must take that require counsel, and you should immediately see a lawyer.
